Washington: Twitter\u2019s updated account verification program has finally launched.<\/p>\n
Earlier, every account had a blue tick now there is a development in which some accounts have turned Gold.<\/p>\n
Last month, CEO Elon Musk, took to the microblogging site to make the announcement. \u201cSorry for the delay, we\u2019re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week.\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n
\u201cGold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates,\u201d the SpaceX owner added.<\/p>\n
He had earlier tweeted about the usage of different colours for different organisations and individuals but fleshed out the details just recently.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll verified individual humans will have same blue check, as boundary of what constitutes \u201cnotable\u201d is otherwise too subjective.\u201d He tweeted.<\/p>\n
According to a report by The Verge, the microblogging platform\u2019s \u2018Twitter Blue\u2019 subscriptions rolled out despite warnings from Twitter\u2019s own trust and safety staff.<\/p>\n
Soon afterwards, numerous \u2018verified\u2019 accounts began to impersonate well-known personalities or brands.<\/p>\n
The chaos began with a fake Nintendo account, which posted the image of the well-known game character Mario raising a middle finger at the Twitter bird.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, another fake Twitter account emerged for \u2018Eli Lilly\u2019, the pharmaceutical company. It had tweeted that insulin had become free.<\/p>\n
