New Delhi: Former England cricketer Andrew Flintoff got hospitalised due to an injury during a shoot for the BBC show \u2018Top Gear\u2019. Working as a television presenter with BBC the 45-year-old met with an accident on December 13 at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey. He was reportedly filming for the show\u2019s test track in Surrey.<\/p>\n
BBC issued a statement saying Andrew Flintoff aka Freddie got injured during the \u2018Top Gear\u2019 test track in the morning and the crew medics came for help immediately. The media house informed that the injury is not life-threatening, however, the former cricketer has been airlifted to the hospital for further treatment.<\/p>\n
The shoot for the show has been postponed and the crew is waiting for Flintoff to completely recover. His co-star Chris Harris was also present at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n
In 2019 also, Flintoff survived an accident during the shoot and he announced that he was completely fine. Back then too, he was filming for \u2018Top Gear\u2019<\/p>\n
He played the role of an all-rounder for his national side and was one the heroes in England\u2019s 2005 and 2009 Ashes victories. He has played 79 Tests and has scored 3845 runs, picking 226 wickets. With the white ball, he has played 141 ODIs and 7 T20Is scoring 3470 runs and taking 174 wickets. He came in as a pace-bowling all-rounder and also went on to captain his national side. He announced his retirement in 2010 with his last game being a Test match against Australia.
