New Delhi: The air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the \u2018very poor\u2019 category on Tuesday morning with an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 314, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR).<\/p>\n
As per the SAFAR, the PM 10 levels were recorded at 150 in the \u2018moderate\u2019 category and PM 2.5 levels were recorded at 81 in the \u2018moderate\u2019 category.
\nA local resident Manish said, \u201cThere is a smog-free tower installed but it is not sufficient.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the air quality in the NCR region \u2013 Noida and Gurugram also remain in the \u2018very poor\u2019 category. AQI of 317 and 325 was recorded at 7.30 am in Gurugram and Noida, respectively.<\/p>\n
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered \u2018good\u2019, 51 and 100 \u2018satisfactory\u2019, 101 and 200 \u2018moderate\u2019, 201 and 300 \u2018poor\u2019, 301 and 400 \u2018very poor\u2019, and 401 and 500 \u2018severe\u2019.<\/p>\n
After the Supreme Court pulled it up for the opening of schools amid the rising air pollution level in the city, the Delhi government directed that schools will remain closed until further orders. The schools in the four districts of Haryana adjoining Delhi has been closed till further orders.<\/p>\n
The Commission for Air Quality Management for NCR and adjoining areas has also directed to stop the entry of trucks in Delhi except for CNG or electric trucks and trucks carrying essential commodities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
