{"id":6833,"date":"2021-06-04T07:58:58","date_gmt":"2021-06-04T07:58:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncrfrontlinenews.com\/?p=6833"},"modified":"2021-06-04T07:58:58","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T07:58:58","slug":"rbi-keeps-interest-rates-unchanged-continues-with-accommodative-stance-to-revive-and-sustain-growth-on-sustainable-basis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncrfrontlinenews.com\/?p=6833","title":{"rendered":"RBI keeps interest rates unchanged, continues with accommodative stance to revive and sustain growth on sustainable basis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday held key interest rates and maintained an accommodative stance amid uncertainty over the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic\u2019s second wave.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came after a three-day meeting of its Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).<\/p>\n<p>The RBI has kept repo rate \u2014 the central bank\u2019s lending rate \u2014 unchanged at 4 per cent and reverse repo rate \u2014 borrowing rate \u2014 at 3.35 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The second Covid wave has raised uncertainty around economic outlook and pushed potential policy normalisation further into the future.<\/p>\n<p>The central bank has cut policy rates by 115 basis points since February 2020.<\/p>\n<p>While the economy is slowly coming back on track, economists say the RBI does not want to derail the pace of growth by tweaking the rates or stance.<\/p>\n<p>Economic growth has to be sustainable before the rates are raised at a time when inflation is rising.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday held key interest rates and maintained an accommodative stance amid uncertainty over the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic\u2019s second wave.
