New Delhi: A case has been registered against television actor Munmun Dutta in Indore for allegedly using an objectionable word against a Scheduled Caste community on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Police have registered a case after a video of Munmun Dutta using a particular word against the community had gone viral on social media recently.<\/p>\n
Based on a complaint lodged by Akhil Bharatiya Balai Mahasangh president Manoj Parmar, an FIR was registered against the TV actor under relevant sections of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the official said.<\/p>\n
In his complaint, Parmar said that the use of a \u201cracist\u201d word by Dutta in her video has hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community, especially the Valmiki community.<\/p>\n
After the video created a stir on social media, she apologised for the same. She shared an official statement that reads, \u201cThis is in reference to a video I posted yesterday where in one word used by me has been misinterpreted. It was never said with the intent of insult, intimidate, humiliate or hurt anyone\u2019s feelings. Because of my language barrier, I was genuinely misinformed about the meaning of the word. Once I was made aware of it meaning I immediately took the part down. I sincerely would like to apologise to every single person who have been unintentionally hurt by the usage of the word and I sincerely regret for the same (sic).\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
