New Delhi: The makers of John Abraham\u2019s upcoming crime-drama \u2018Satyameva Jayate 2\u2019 on Tuesday announced that they are postponing the release of the film over coronavirus concerns.<\/p>\n
After the lockdown last year, many filmmakers were awaiting the release of their forthcoming films in 2021.
\nConsidering the situation the nation is going through and keeping the safety of fans in mind, the movie that was slated to lock horns with Salman Khan\u2019s upcoming film \u2018Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai\u2019, on May 13, has been postponed.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn these unprecedented times, nothing matters more than the safety and health of our countrymen and patrons. Our film \u2018Satyameva Jayate 2\u2019 will now release at a later date. Till then let\u2019s keep our masks on and do our best to keep our loved ones and ourselves out of harm\u2019s way. Jai Hind,\u201d read the official statement.<\/p>\n
Directed by Milap Zaveri, the upcoming movie also features actors Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Khosla Kumar, and Amyra Dastur. The action drama will be bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani.<\/p>\n
The film that will feature John in a dual avatar -as a police officer and as a common man, went on floors on September 20, 2019. Like the first installment, \u2018Satyameva Jayate 2\u2019, a standalone sequel, will also focus on the fight against injustice and misuse of power.<\/p>\n
\u2018Satyameva Jayate\u2019, which released in 2018, became a major hit making it Milap and John\u2019s second-biggest box office success. The 2018 cop drama also featured Manoj Bajpayee in a pivotal role.<\/p>\n
The first film narrated the story of a cop (Bajpayee), who has been given the task to catch a person named Vir (John), who is on a spree of killing corrupt police officers. Both Bajpayee and John fight for the same reason but they are divided by the law.<\/p>\n
