New Delhi:\u00a0<\/strong>The number of coronavirus infections in the country is increasing exponentially with the COVID-19 virus claiming thousands of new victims every day.<\/p>\n

The country is battling with a worrisome situation in terms of the increasing number of coronavirus cases. The situation is all the more alarming as medicines and vaccines for the COVID-19 virus are yet to be found.<\/p>\n

Despite a lengthy lockdown which was intended to curb the COVID-19 virus, the coronavirus pandemic is getting more serious with each passing day.<\/p>\n

The number of coronavirus infections is rising at an alarming rate in India with thousands falling victim to the COVID-19 virus every day.<\/p>\n

The situation has become so dangerous that the number of coronavirus patients is rising by almost 1,00,000 every day and daily spikes of over 50,000 COVID-19 infections are coming to light for more than a month now.<\/p>\n

As Unlock 4 unfolds, the coronavirus pandemic is assuming even more alarming proportions with the number of COVID-19 infections rising by leaps and bounds.<\/p>\n

In terms of the daily rise in the number of COVID-19 cases is concerned, India has now surpassed even the United States, which has been the worst affected by the coronavirus pandemic among the major countries.<\/p>\n

The coronavirus pandemic in India currently seems to be at its worst, as the country’s trajectory of daily COVID-19 cases continued to be the highest-ever recorded globally since the start of the health crisis in December 2019.<\/p>\n

After showing a decline for four consecutive days last week, the coronavirus pandemic has registered an increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases over the past few days.<\/p>\n

With a spike of 86,821 coronavirus cases and 1,181 deaths in 24 hours, India’s tally on Thursday mounted to 63,12,584 cases.<\/p>\n

Out of the total cases, 9,40,705 are currently active, 52,73,201 have been discharged, while 98,678 lost the battle against the viral disease.<\/p>\n

While the recovery rate stands at a whooping high of 83.53 per cent, the fatality rate has come down to 1.56 per cent, the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.<\/p>\n

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with a total of 13,84,446 cases, including 36,662 deaths; followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.<\/p>\n

According to the data from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India conducted 14,23,052 sample tests in a single day on Wednesday, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 7,56,19,781.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
