It was launched 7th September 2020, by using Agni missile booster\u00a0 under the eyes of Satheesh Reddy, the chief of Defence Research and Development Organisation commonly known as DRDO and with his Hypersonic Missile team. In the coming five years, the department hopes to enchance the hypersonic missile with scramjet engine which will enable it to travel at 2km per second.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Hypersonic Test Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV) stood up on all areas such as combustion chamber pressure, air intake and control guidance. A senior official said, \u201cThe vehicle performed successfully on all the pre-determined parametres including the ability to handle combustion temperatures of over 2500 degrees Celsius as well as air speed.\u201d The Defence Minister of this great nation, India, took to twitter and complimented the DRDO on their successful trial of hypersonic missile. He even mentioned the Prime Minister vision of \u00a0\u2018Atmanirbhar Bharat\u2019 in view of this landmark win.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Mr. Rajanth tweeted \u201cI congratulate to DRDO on this landmark achievement towards realising the Prime Minister\u2019s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. I spoke to the scientists associated with the project and congratulated them on this great achievement. India is proud of them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">\u00a0In addition to being a long-range cruise missiles, it even has other incentives such as it can also be used for launching satellites at low cost, as per government official.
