New Delhi: For the first time ever in its history, the Tribeca Film Festival will showcase five short films made by artificial intelligence using OpenAI\u2019s Sora, which turns text into video.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the same, Tribeca\u2019s CEO & co-founder, Jane Rosenthal, recently said, \u201cTribeca is rooted in the foundational belief that storytelling inspires change. Humans need stories to thrive and make sense of our wonderful and broken world.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes these stories come to us as a feature film, an immersive experience, a piece of art, or even an AI-generated short film. I can\u2019t wait to see what this group of fiercely creative Tribeca alumni come up with,\u201d he added further.<\/p>\n
About Tribeca and OpenAI\u2019s collaboration
\nTribeca and OpenAI collaboration included a group of filmmakers, introducing them to Sora\u2019s potential. Filmmakers had to follow the terms and conditions established in the 2023 agreement with the DGA, WGA, and SAG regardless of whether their projects were directly affiliated with these guidelines.<\/p>\n
Ellie Foumbi, Nikyatu Jusu, Reza Sixo Safai, Bonnie Discepolo, Nikyatu Jusu, and Michaela Ternasky-Holladare are all the major filmmakers will be participating in the upcoming fest.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s great to see how these filmmakers are extending their creativity with Sora, and we are honored for their works to debut at the Tribeca Festival. We are excited about their short films and eager to learn how we can make Sora a better tool for all creatives,\u201d said OpenAI\u2019s COO Brad Lightcap while showcasing his excitement for the collaboration.<\/p>\n
