{"id":11213,"date":"2023-11-27T08:43:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-27T08:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncrfrontlinenews.com\/?p=11213"},"modified":"2023-11-27T08:43:11","modified_gmt":"2023-11-27T08:43:11","slug":"varanasi-shimmers-for-dev-deepawali-millions-of-lamps-to-illuminate-ghats-in-grand-celebration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncrfrontlinenews.com\/?p=11213","title":{"rendered":"Varanasi shimmers for \u2018Dev Deepawali\u2019: Millions of lamps to illuminate ghats in grand celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Varanasi: Varanasi is gearing up for the grand celebration of \u2018Dev Deepawali\u2019 on Monday, with the city adorned in brilliant lights and decorations.<\/p>\n<p>Dev Deepavali, known as \u201cthe Diwali of the Gods,\u201d falls on the full moon of the Hindu month of Kartika, occurring fifteen days after Diwali.<\/p>\n<p>The riverfront ghats of the Ganges River, from Ravidas Ghat to Rajghat, will be illuminated with over a million earthen lamps (diyas) to honour the river Ganga and its presiding goddess.<\/p>\n<p>Visuals from the city showed roads, intersections and prominent spots, dazzling the light.<\/p>\n<p>The festival includes a show featuring firecrackers, lasers, and music under the moonlit sky, accompanied by a green aerial firecracker display.<\/p>\n<p>According to an official release from the Chief Minister\u2019s Office (CMO), a garland of lamps will be decorated on the crescent-shaped Ganga Ghats of Kashi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTourists will be able to enjoy a show of firecrackers, lasers and music under the moonlit sky.
