Healthcare sector have lately been on government\u2019s top agenda. Ayushman Bharat Yojana & its ever-increasing impact is a testimony of govt\u2019s renewed push in the sector.<\/p>\n
ACCESS Health International is expecting Budget\u2019s increased emphasis on National health policy and hopes that it will address various ongoing programs under the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe issue is not more budget allocation, but how the allocated budget is being efficiently spent\u201d, said Dr. Krishna Reddy Nallamalla, Regional Director, South Asia, ACCESS Health International.<\/p>\n
Dr. Krishna Reddy Nallamalla recommends top priority should be given to health promotion through health literacy and multi-sector coordination to address non-medical social and environmental determinants of health.<\/p>\n
Dr. Reddy further suggested to improve supply of healthcare services in underserved areas, building needed competencies in the health workforce in addition to increasing the needed numbers.<\/p>\n
