New Delhi: The military confrontation between India and China in Ladakh has continued for more than five months with the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China in an eyeball-to-eyeball situation at several points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
India is constantly upgrading its military power amidst the border dispute with China. The good thing is that the country is now becoming self-sufficient in the field of defence. Successive trials of missiles from India have made the Chinese scared and anxious.
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) made history once again on Friday. India successfully test-fired the anti-radiation missile ‘Rudram’ on Friday.
This missile is built by DRDO. It was tested with the Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft. This state-of-the-art high-speed missile developed in India is the first of such type of missile in the arsenal of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
This is the first such missile made in India, which can be fired from any height. These missiles can capture and lock on to any kind of signal and radiation. It can also intercept and destroy enemy missiles.
Currently, this missile is undergoing trials, but soon after the completion of these trials, they will be used to fit in Sukhoi and indigenous aircraft Tejas. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also congratulated DRDO on the occasion.
It is noteworthy that earlier this week, DRDO successfully tested the Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedo (SMART). The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) tested it in the coastal region of Odisha.
